Venyx Racing Division

Built to compete.
On the track and in the courtroom.

The Racing Division is the competitive side of Venyx. The focus it takes to win on the track is the focus we bring to winning your case.

Why I race

The courtroom isn't the only place I compete.

I've been racing with the MRA since 2021, and I've been a runner for longer than that. People ask why a lawyer would spend his weekends at High Plains Raceway or on a start line at 6 a.m. The honest answer is that racing and lawyering ask for the same things: competitiveness, total focus, and the nerve to commit when it counts.

Not every case goes to trial. I wish more did, but trial isn't always the right call for a client, and I won't make that call for my own benefit. Racing is where I keep the edge sharp between courtrooms. At speed you make decisions in fractions of a second with incomplete information, and you live with them. That is the same muscle I bring to every case, and the track is where I train it.

It's also just a good way to live. It gets me outside, it keeps me healthy, and it puts me around riders and kids who are learning that the place to chase a thrill is a closed course, not a public road. Organized racing teaches discipline, safety, and respect for speed, and that is a far better lesson than the street will ever give.

"The racing community isn't a marketing angle. It's a huge part of my life outside the office." Dylan Unger · Founder & Attorney, Venyx Injury Law

  • Competition

A clock, a grid, and a result nobody can argue with. I like being measured.

  • Keeping the edge

Not every case goes to trial. Racing is where the competitive drive and the focus stay sharp between courtrooms, so they're ready when a client's case needs them.

  • Quick thinking

At race speed you commit to a decision before you have all the facts, then you own it. That habit is worth a lot across a negotiating table.

Bike #503.

I race a Yamaha with the Motorcycle Roadracing Association, Colorado's licensed road racing series, and I've ridden track days and endurance rounds with Legion SBK since then too. I earned the 2023 Novice GTU season championship on bike #503 and I've kept the number since. I've also coached new racers through the MRA's new rider racing school, the program that licenses most of Colorado's first-year racers.

Off the track I'm a personal injury lawyer in Denver, and the riding is why I take motorcycle accident cases the way I do. I know how a crash actually unfolds at speed. My own handlebar came off at 100 mph in 2024, so I know what a rider is thinking in the seconds before impact and what it means to be seriously hurt doing something you love. When I'm working a motorcycle case, I draw on that every day.

Meet Alex Ramirez.

Alex Ramirez was born and raised in Denver. A bilingual Mexican-American rider who started out racing go-karts as a kid, he is now one of the fastest young road racers in Colorado.

Venyx is Alex's lead sponsor, and you'll see our logo on his bike, #177. I race in the same series, on the same tracks, so I see his work up close every race weekend. I back Alex because I believe in where he's headed.

Backing a rider is the Racing Division doing what the firm does: putting real support behind someone who earns it.

Who we ride with

The organizations behind the trailer.

Racing in Colorado is a community before it's a sport. These are the series, shops, and brands Dylan races with and supports. The full list, with a note on each, lives on the Community page.

On the road

The other half of the race shirt.

The Racing Division isn't only motorcycles. I run, and I race at that too. It's the same instinct in a quieter form: a start line, a course, a time to beat, and a few miles where the phone stays in my pocket.

If you've seen the Venyx shirt at the Boulderthon or another Colorado race, that was probably me. Follow the Racing Division for race weekends, the garage builds, and every training run.
