The Commercial Trucking Advantage

A truck case is not a bigger car case.

Federal Regulations as Evidence

Commercial drivers and carriers operate under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations covering hours of service, drug and alcohol testing, vehicle maintenance, and driver qualifications. A documented violation can be powerful evidence of negligence. Volume firms rarely build a case around it.

Multi-Party Liability

A truck crash rarely has just one defendant. The driver. The trucking company. The truck owner. The maintenance contractor. The cargo loader. The broker. Each may carry a separate policy and separate exposure. We map the chain so no insurer can point fingers down the road.

The Evidence Window Closes Fast

Electronic Control Module data, dash-cam footage, driver logs, and dispatch records can legally be overwritten or destroyed in as little as 30 days. Trucking insurers send rapid-response teams to the scene within hours. The sooner an attorney is on it, the more of that evidence is still there to find.

Direct Attorney Access

No case managers. No revolving door. Just the lawyer working your file.

I founded VENYX to challenge the settlement-mill model. At the high-volume firms, you're often just a file number managed by a revolving door of case managers. You might not speak to your actual attorney until the day the case settles, if ever.

Serious truck accident cases require an attorney's direct attention, not a script. When you hire me, I personally handle your investigation, your negotiations, and your litigation strategy. Every call, every email, every demand letter.

Most injury firms still operate on bloated staff and outdated systems, and either ignore technology or charge you extra for it. VENYX is built on a modern, digital-first foundation. We don't pay for inefficiency, so neither do you. That's how we deliver elite representation starting at a 29% fee.

Why It Matters Who You Hire

Insurance companies keep score.

Every major insurer maintains internal records on the attorneys they deal with. They track who files lawsuits and who folds at the negotiating table. That reputation follows every case before a single demand letter goes out.

Case Preparation
Trial-Ready Always
Every case is built from day one as if it's going to a jury, because sometimes it does.
"Settling isn't the goal. The best possible recovery is the goal. Sometimes those are the same thing. Sometimes they're not. The insurance company already knows which kind of attorney they're dealing with before you walk in the door." Dylan Unger, Founder, VENYX Injury Law
The Fee Difference

The industry never modernized. We did.

Nearly every injury firm in America works on a contingency fee: the lawyer is paid a percentage of what they recover for you, and nothing if they don't. It's the arrangement that makes hiring a trial attorney possible without hourly bills or upfront costs. The standard contingency fee was set decades ago, back when case files were paper and every task took a person. But as technology has advanced, firms have raised their prices. Today most firms charge 33-35% pre-lawsuit and 40-45% once a lawsuit is filed. They need to cover the offices, staff, and ad budgets that do nothing to win your case.

We saw that as an opportunity. Dylan spent years as a senior attorney at one of Colorado's largest personal injury firms, where he watched that overhead come straight out of client recoveries. He left to do it differently. Venyx runs on modern case management technology; a leaner practice moves faster, works more efficiently, and costs less to operate. We pass those savings to you: 29% standard fee, 33% if we sue. Lower overhead, lower fee, with experienced, trial-ready representation and aggressive fight. You just keep more of your recovery when it's over.

The Venyx Promise

The firm never makes more than the client. At every fee level, you keep more of your recovery than we do.

Venyx fee structure: 29% standard, 33% if a lawsuit is filed. Client is responsible for case costs.

I worked with a law office for over 2 years before I met Dylan Unger and the contrast couldn't be more dramatic. I went from a case that had no end in sight to Dylan taking over and quickly litigating my case to a final resolution. I paid thousands less due to Dylan's fee structure, and my case was resolved months earlier. A true testament to his expertise, professionalism, and dedication.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

01

How much do lawyers take from a truck accident settlement?

Most firms take 33% to 35% if the case settles before a lawsuit is filed, and 40% to 45% once one is filed. We charge 29% standard, and 33% if we file suit. The actual dollar figure depends on what gets recovered, and at every fee level the firm never makes more than the client.

02

How much does a truck accident lawyer charge in Colorado?

Nearly all Colorado injury firms work on contingency, which means the fee comes out of the recovery and you pay nothing upfront. Rates here typically run 33% to 35% before a lawsuit and 40% to 45% after one is filed. Ours are 29% and 33%.

03

Why is your fee lower than other firms?

We built the firm around modern case management technology, which keeps our overhead low and puts more of Dylan's time into casework instead of administration. Same trial-ready aggression, less cost to run the firm. When technology makes the work more efficient, the client should keep the savings. So we pass that difference on instead of pocketing it.

04

What case costs am I responsible for?

Case costs are the out-of-pocket expenses of building your claim: ordering medical records, court filing fees, expert witness fees. They are separate from our fee, and we keep them down by using vetted providers and by using technology to avoid the expenses we can. What you will never see from us is a technology charge. Firms are increasingly using software to do the work paralegals and assistants used to do, then billing that software back to the client, often $150 to $700 or more on top of an already higher percentage. They cut the salary and charge you for the replacement. Ask any firm you are considering whether their technology shows up on your settlement statement. Ours never will. Technology is our cost of doing business, not a way to take more from injured clients.

05

Should I get a lawyer if the accident was not my fault?

Usually yes, because fault is only part of it. The claim still has to be built and documented, and there are often several policies in play, including your own coverage. We know which ones apply and how to pursue each, so no available coverage gets missed.

06

Is it worth getting an attorney for a truck accident?

It depends on your injuries. If the contact was minor and you needed no treatment, probably not. If you needed medical care, missed work, or are still in treatment, a lawyer usually changes the outcome by more than the fee costs. The consultation is free and we only earn a fee if we recover for you.
